The Chamber of Mediation and Arbitration of the IASP – Institute of Lawyers of São Paulo is launching a new educational offering titled “Solutions for Conflicts in Oil, Gas and Biofuels (O&G&Bio): Arbitration, Mediation and Dispute Boards.” The course runs from 9 August to 17 November 2026, and every Wednesday a three-hour session will be streamed online, beginning at 6:45 PM and ending at 9:45 PM.
Dr. Solange David coordinates the program, which is aimed at professionals working in the legal, regulatory, engineering and economic fields of the oil, gas and biofuels sectors. Participants will receive a total of 33 hours of instruction distributed across 11 separate sessions, allowing them to explore the nuances of arbitration, mediation and the use of dispute boards in complex industry disputes.
The curriculum brings together a roster of eleven recognized experts. Cesar Pereira, an international arbitrator and president of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, will lead modules on arbitration practice. He will be joined by ANP General Prosecutor Francisco Petros, who will share insights from the regulator’s perspective.

Additional faculty members include Dr. Beatriz Rosa, Dr. Diogo Ciuffo, Dr. Elias Marques, Dr. Evandro Pereira Caldas, Fabiana Vidigal Diniz de Figueiredo, Dr. Maria Assunção D’Costa, Dr. Marilda Rosado, Dr. Rafael Gagliardi and Renata Isfer. Each instructor contributes specialized knowledge that reflects both academic research and hands-on experience in the energy field.
Because the sessions are delivered online, professionals from across Brazil and neighboring countries can join without the need for travel. The flexible schedule permits busy executives to fit the three-hour class into a typical workweek, ensuring that the material is accessible to a broad audience.
